Fans of The Witcher, rejoice! Netflix's hit show has been officially renewed for a fourth season, meaning there's plenty of adventure yet to be had.

However, there will be a new face leading these adventures, as the role of Geralt de Rivia has been passed from Henry Cavill to Liam Hemsworth in an official announcement by both actors.

'The Witcher' has been renewed for a fourth season, but there's a pretty big catch.

Today, the show officially announced that Henry Cavill would not be reprising the role of Geralt of Rivia.

Instead, Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth will be taking the helm.

Both actors also posted the news to their Instagrams.

In his post, Cavill writes that he will "be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4" but "the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf."

"As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men."

Hemsworth's post shared similar gratitude.

"As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia," he wrote, "Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. "

"I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world."

Fans are...divided.

Some are excited to see a new take on the character, or are fans of Hemsworth and are more than happy to watch him in something new, while others are incredibly dismayed that Cavill is leaving the role behind.

Whether or not it's a good move, well, we'll just have to wait for the season to drop!
