When it comes to public restrooms, everyone is a little different. Some people have no problem sitting directly on the seat. Others feel a little uncomfortable with that direct contact, and prefer to use a seat cover, or even hover over the toilet. Whatever they choose to do is really their business, though.

A Reddit user got into blows with her conservative coworker, who decided to try and out her as transgender after using the bathroom after her one day. The only issue here is, the user isn't trans. After the user exposed her coworker's bathroom habits, other people in the room called her out for being "rude." So, she asked AITA if she was really in the wrong.

OP Gets Along With Almost All Of Her Coworkers

All except for one, whom OP calls Alexis. Alexis is very conservative, with views that clash with OP's own. One day, when OP was going to use the bathroom, she noticed it was just cleaned, and the seat was up. So she decided to just leave the seat up and hover. Alexis used the toilet after her.

Later on in the break room, Alexis began making insensitive remarks toward trans women, before insinuating that Alexis was one. Alexis counters by saying that, while she is cis, there's nothing wrong with being trans. But Alexis insists, noting that OP had left the seat up in the bathroom once.

OP said she just hovered instead of having her bare butt on the seat like Alexis did. This made Alexis upset, so she ran out of the break room. Other coworkers felt that OP was being rude.

Commenters Felt That OP Wasn't The Rude One In That Exchange.

Commenters pointed out how Alexis seems to be proud to be transphobic, but can't handle people knowing she sits on toilet seats. It makes no sense, and to the comment section, it makes OP the innocent one here.

If OP really were trans, Alexis could've put her in a lot of danger. Considering her views, though, it seems that Alexis probably wouldn't care. Still, commenters urged OP to contact HR about it.

It's also sexual harassment.

What Alexis did also counts as sexual harassment. Though users urged OP to contact HR, OP believes it'd cause more trouble than it's worth.
