Many modern assisted living facilities try to differentiate their facilities from regular nursing homes. One of the ways they achieve this is by asking their staff to dress in business-casual uniforms. A Reddit netizen, who works at one such assisted living facility where staff is required to wear a collared shirt and khakis or black pants, took to the platform to share his experience of maliciously complying with a dress code.

The OP Maliciously Complied To Dress Code

The 35-year-old male, who has been a certified nurse's aide for 10 years and is required to wear a collared shirt and khakis or black pants at work. However, this is not very convenient for the nurse, who is about 6'3 tall and has a hard time finding khakis that fit.

He usually had to custom order khakis which cost a lot more than his $12/hr wage allows. Despite the relatively high cost of acquiring the khakis, they do not last a long time. The building where the Redditor works have a hard floor and he usually has to get on his knees when assisting residents which makes them wear out at their knees.

One day, management informed the employees that they were allowed to wear yoga pants that were black or khaki-colored. However, this does not help the nurse's situation in any way so he decided to purchase black and khaki scrub pants instead as they are cheaper and more durable.

The Redditor wore the scrub pants for a week before being summoned by management who reminded him that scrubs were not allowed. He tried to explain his financial situation, adding that each pair of khakis cost him almost a whole day's wage and he has to replace them so frequently. He also argued that if women were allowed to wear yoga pants as a less expensive option, men should also be allowed to wear scrubs. The management, however, refused to accept his arguments.

Looking at the flyer that contains the initial announcement, the nurse realizes that there are no gender specifications regarding the yoga pants. On getting home, he borrowed a pair of his girlfriend's black yoga pants and wore them to work the next day. Due to the difference in height between him and his girlfriend, the pants barely went past his knees.

At work, he struts around in his girlfriend's yoga pants which had the word “juicy” written across the buttocks, making sure to tuck in his shirt. One hour into his shift, he was summoned by his boss and Human Resources one hour into his shift. They informed him that he would be sent home for not wearing the correct uniform to which he pointed out that there were no specifications about length.

However, in the end, his boss reluctantly gave him permission to wear scrubs, adding that female residents have been talking about his “juicy” butt.
